Air Transportation
Current round-trip airfare between New York City and Bangkok is
approximately $720.00, and from Los Angeles, $670.00 or $770 from
Chicago. We continue to pursue corporate sponsorship from international
airlines and believe transportation between Bangkok and Phuket will
be donated by local Thai organizations for many of our trips. The
flight is long, so give yourself time to recover before starting
work on the project.
Hotel Accommodations
We continue to pursue corporate sponsorship from international hotels
that operate on Phuket. Accommodations will likely be shared and
double occupancy, so please be flexible and understand that in order
to reduce our costs, we cannot accommodate everyones roommate preferences
but will do our best.
Health Information
Conditions in Southeast Asia and on Phuket change frequently. With
the devastating loss of life in the region, the United States government
recommends additional precautions to prevent risk and illness. Health
information and advice for travelers to affected regions have been
posted on the Center
for Disease Control's Travelers Health website.
Weather
Phuket is hot and humid all year round, culminating with the hottest
period around the middle of April, coinciding with the time of the
Thai new year. There is a rainy season from about May to July. Although
cooled by the winds of the Andaman Sea, temperatures range from
approximately 28 to 32 degrees celsius, approximately 85-95 degrees
farenheit. Weather.com
